An employee of one of the Gomel enterprises received a bribe in an especially large amount, including a family tour to Thailand. The details of the criminal case were disclosed in the regional court, writes sb.by.

The accused was charged with receiving a bribe in an especially large amount under Part 3 of Article 430 of the Criminal Code.

The defendant worked as the head of a department of one of the enterprises of the regional center. At the same time, he, as an official, took money as a bribe for lobbying the interests of several legal entities when concluding contracts for the supply of products and their subsequent execution. In total, he received at least 180 thousand rubles. In addition, a tour to Thailand was paid for him and his wife, the court said.

The man fully admitted his guilt. The court found him guilty of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale. Under Part 3 of Article 430 of the Criminal Code, he was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment in a reinforced-security correctional colony, as well as a fine of 1,000 basic values. In addition, he is deprived of the right to hold positions related to organizational, administrative and administrative functions for five years. According to part 1 of article 46-1 of the criminal code, $3,000 are subject to special confiscation in the state.

The sentence has not yet entered into force and can be appealed or challenged.
