Grandparents Day October 28: beautiful pictures and greeting cards
On Wednesday, October 28, Grandparents Day is celebrated in many countries of the world.

Autumn is a time when you especially want warmth and family comfort. That is why on October 28, one of the most heartfelt holidays is celebrated in Russia - Grandparents Day.
Although it is popular in more than 30 countries, there is no single world date: in Europe and the United States, it is celebrated in different months. But our autumn date was not chosen by chance.
At the end of October, the ancient Slavs remembered their ancestors, celebrating “Autumn Grandfathers”. This is a time of unity of generations, when the wisdom of the elders is intertwined with the energy of the younger.
The modern holiday tradition was born in 2009 thanks to... Dutch florists. Initially, the businessmen simply wanted to support sales by offering grandchildren to give elderly relatives flowers in pots. But the idea quickly acquired a surprisingly deep meaning: the land kashpo symbolizes our “roots” – grandparents, and young shoots are grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The main gift is indoor plants with meaning. For example, blossoming hibiscus is given for longevity, and geranium is given for financial comfort and stability in the house.
But more important than any flower is sincere attention. On this day, it is customary to gather at the tea table, get dusty albums with black and white photos and listen to stories from the youth of older people.
In many cities, good actions are timed to this date: hotels are collected for single pensioners, and shops arrange festive discounts for the older generation.
