"Down with the Russians!" Polish tourist made a scandal in the Turkish resort because of one phrase
A Polish tourist freaked out at a Turkish resort after speaking in Russian.

In the Turkish city of Kemer, a seller of beach goods decided that he was a tourist from Russia, and spoke to the buyer in Russian. For local traders, this is a familiar situation: the resort has long been popular with Russians, and many sellers speak their language fluently.
But this time the man was wrong. The buyer turned out to be Polish and reacted unexpectedly violently. He ran out of the store, started shouting that he was fed up with the Russians, and resented the lack of English around.
Kemer has long become one of the popular destinations for Russian tourists. Here, Russian is spoken in shops, cafes and hotels, and the staff often addresses guests in Russian, focusing on their appearance.
However, the reaction of the Polish tourist attracted attention not only because of the conflict itself. After the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine in 2022, the attitude towards Russia in Polish society has deteriorated markedly. Surveys of the CBOS research center recorded a high level of hostility to Russians.
However, to explain the behavior of a particular person by nationality alone would be wrong. Not every Pole would react this way if they were mistaken for a Russian.
On the one hand, the seller should take into account that the appearance does not allow to accurately determine the nationality of the buyer. On the other hand, the usual mistake hardly deserved such a violent reaction.
Turkish resorts have long focused on certain flows of tourists. In Kemer a lot of Russians, in Marmaris traditionally rest the British, and in Side noticeable German audience. Therefore, local residents often choose the language of communication based on their usual surroundings.
But even in such a situation, a simple question remains: why did the usual treatment in Russian end in scandal?
Perhaps it is not only in the political mood, but also in the personal attitude of the tourist to what is happening. After all, you can calmly correct the interlocutor, or you can arrange a scene that will then spread throughout the Internet.
