The share of electrified transport in Minsk reached 50%

The share of electrified transport in Minsk reached 50% in 2026. This was told by Deputy General Director for the organization of transportation “Minsktrans” Roman Pranovich, the correspondent of the Agency “Minsk-Novosti”.

According to him, half of the vehicles are environmentally friendly, that is, they are driven by an electric motor.

- This base consists of more than 700 trolleybuses, and at the moment 60% of them are trolleybuses with increased autonomous running, 131 trams and 147 electric buses.

The expert noted that this allows to serve 62 trolleybus routes, including 20 with sections of the contactless network and 12 routes, which are served exclusively by electric buses.

Director of the enterprise "Capital transport and communications" Yuri Supranovich added that daily on weekdays on the line leaves about 1.5 thousand vehicles, about 300 - route expresses. In total, the city has 296 routes that require constant adjustment and optimization.

- There is a concept for the electrification of transport for 2025-2030 Proceeding from it, we provide for the renewal of 164 transport units and the transfer of about 15 bus routes to trolleybuses, said Yuri Supranovich.

The expert also noted the development of services: Minsktrans has successfully implemented the 488 service, which allows you to find out the time of arrival of transport at the stopover. According to him, "Capital Transport and Communications" continues to work on the state information system for booking and selling tickets in suburban, intercity and international communications - it should work from July 1, 2027.
