The roads of the Altai Territory are preparing for winter
In the Altai Territory, the preparation of roads of regional and inter-municipal significance for operation in winter continues

In total, it is planned to harvest more than 200 thousand tons of deicing materials, including sand, reagents and sand-salt mixture. The procurement is planned: volumes for different types of materials are from 55 to 76 percent of the demand.
For work in the winter period, about 1290 units of specialized equipment will be involved: combined road vehicles with dumps, motor graders, sand spreaders, excavators, rotary snow plows, loaders, bulldozers. Its readiness level is also close to 80 percent.
Particular attention is paid to the state of the road infrastructure. Before sub-zero temperatures, specialists will have to prepare all water passage facilities located on regional roads, perform pit repairs, fill seams and cracks on the coating, and clean the drainage systems. In addition, an additional six kilometers of snow fences have been installed along the tracks in places with the greatest snowfall.
“Preparing for the winter season is always a comprehensive test of the readiness of the entire road industry. De-icing materials and road equipment are being prepared, artificial structures and drainage systems are being put in order. I want to emphasize that the safety of the residents of the region is an absolute priority for us. In winter, we will do everything necessary to ensure uninterrupted and safe traffic on the roads of the region, said the Minister of Transport of the Altai Territory Andrei Podolyan.
He also noted that all planned measures to prepare for the winter maintenance of roads will be completed by the end of October.
