Head of the main department of ideological, educational work and youth policy of the Ministry of Education Viktor Dovnar told how children's rest was organized in summer camps. Belta writes about it.

The organization of the summer health campaign was carefully prepared and worked out. For the third year, the education system worked according to a new instructional and methodical letter, in which the matrix “Day after day” was provided. She helped teachers to plan their work and facilitated their task, because taking into account the specifics and characteristics of the camp, it was only necessary to add their activities and regional themes.

As Viktor Dovnar noted, the educational potential of the summer health campaign was aimed primarily at the patriotic education of the younger generation. “Many events were held in the camps dedicated to significant dates: 22 June, 3 July. For children organized field and excursion events dedicated to the heroic past of our country. The children were also shown the potential of domestic flagship enterprises and what our country is proud of today. Excursions were held at the enterprises of BelAZ, Belji, Minsk Tractor Plant, as well as at such iconic facilities as Stalin Line, Brest Fortress, Khatyn, he said.

One of the directions of the summer campaign was also physical culture and sports. “Sports facilities for educational institutions and country camps were available. The stadiums worked seven days a week, and teachers held events at the sports grounds. Any child could come, play sports, improve their health. Also, continued work and associations of interests both in country camps and in educational institutions, including additional, — said the head of the main Department.

Especially popular among children was the action “Step to success”. The children enjoyed meeting with invited speakers and famous people, communicated with them on equal terms, learned about their life and professional path and asked questions. “If at first the young people were somewhat skeptical of the action, now, in the fifth year of its holding, it arouses genuine interest: the speakers managed to find a common language with the children,” said Viktor Dovnar.

As for safety, prevention was carried out in the summer – explanatory work was carried out among children and among their legal representatives in enterprises and organizations, reminding of the need to monitor how children spend their free time.

“The state invests significant financial resources and efforts in the organization of children’s leisure so that children can relax and start the new academic year with new forces,” the representative of the Ministry of Education concluded.
