Fictitious practice. BSTU students told about the consequences of trying to bypass the distribution
A preventive event devoted to the consequences of fictitious employment after graduation in order to avoid distribution was held for the first time.

A preventive event on the consequences of fictitious employment after graduation in order to avoid distribution was held for students at the Belarusian State Technological University on September 11. Young people on a real example showed what can lead to an attempt to avoid mandatory workout on distribution, the correspondent of the agency “Minsk-Novosti”.
In the presence of students of the 4th year and graduates of 2026, a visiting court session was held in the case of fictitious employment of young specialists in order to avoid distribution. The young people became listeners to the trial, and then were able to ask law enforcement officials and the university questions.

As explained by the Prosecutor of the Leninsky district of the city of Minsk Dmitry Lukyanov, graduates who studied at the expense of the budget, after distribution did not want to work out the period established by law and concluded fictitious labor contracts with the organization. Formally, young specialists were listed as its employees, but in fact they did not fulfill their official duties.
Graduates of the budget form of education, according to the legislation, are obliged to work at the place of distribution for two years. However, for various reasons, they did not want to do so, concluding fictitious employment contracts and did not actually perform their work duties. Subsequently, these facts were established, and officials of the business entity were brought to criminal responsibility, Lukyanov said.

According to the prosecutor, such a scheme has serious consequences not only for the organizers of fictitious employment, but also for young professionals themselves. The state spends significant funds on the training of public sector employees - pays for training, pays a scholarship, provides a hostel and other guarantees.
As a result, students who took advantage of such a scheme had to reimburse tuition costs depending on the specialty and faculty. In addition, criminal cases were opened against young people on the fact of causing damage to the state without signs of embezzlement. In some cases, when compensation for damages and taking into account the attitude of the accused to the crime, decisions were made on release from criminal liability with the involvement of the administrative.

However, the financial implications are not limited. Employment contracts concluded fictitiously may be declared invalid, and information about the relevant work experience is excluded. In addition, the fact of prosecution in the future can affect employment opportunities, in particular in state bodies and organizations.
- We claim claims for invalidation of employment contracts. This is necessary, among other things, so that this information is not counted in the total work experience and not taken into account when calculating pensions, Lukyanov said.
Separately, the prosecutor stressed that if a graduate understands that he does not want to work in the received specialty, the legislation provides a way to resolve this issue. This is what one of the students asked during the meeting: what to do to a person who at the end of his studies realized that he did not want to associate his future life with his profession?

As representatives of the university explained, in such a situation, a student can apply to the distribution commission. He will calculate the amount that must be reimbursed to the state for training, after which he will be able to refuse distribution and continue the professional path of his choice.
- If you do not want to work out for your own reasons, you do not need to look for any dubious schemes. You can come to the university, apply to the commission, you will legally calculate the amount that must be reimbursed to the budget. In this case, you comply with the requirements of the law and no claims to you arise, – said Vice-Rector for ideological and educational work of BSTU Dmitry Gapanyuk.
