How do you find balance? Regulation of the gambling business was discussed in the talk show “Alone with Borovik”

Polina Konoga asked if Vadim Borovik visited the casino. The doctor said he had never been to such places.

- I don't want to try. Absolutely not. That's a principled position. I understand that this is a system of deception, he said.

According to him, the emergence of digital casinos has become a huge problem. Earlier this topic was raised by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. During the meeting on September 10, the Head of State instructed to study the work and advertising in the country of gambling business.

- There is data that in the world about 1.4 percent of adults have a confirmed diagnosis of ludomania, said Polina Konoga. - That's tens of millions of people. We know that in Belarus the sphere is regulated and there are certain limits to the game. The President drew attention to the dominance of advertising. As he put it, the country has turned into a casino, everyone is spinning geese, it needs to be dealt with. This is a really serious addiction that requires some treatment. We know that there are countries that completely ban this sphere, but then their citizens go to other countries.

Vadim Borovik drew attention to the fact that it is necessary to act carefully in the regulation of this sphere:

- We need to act carefully, not succumbing to any trend. Calculate, assess challenges, threats, make a decision. I am not in favor of radical actions. At the same time, I see the danger and agree with the head of state. Another point is that money should not leave the country. The money received by the operators of these companies should be reinvested in the Belarusian economy. We need to make sure that this money does not go to other countries, especially on such a massive scale.

The political scientist noted that gambling addiction is a serious problem for a person:

- People from this state can not get out, do not see in the future the meaning of life. Imagine if someone lost an apartment. He had the whole world in his hands, he won three apartments, and then he let it all down. Then they walk like zombies, they can't get a job. It's a loss to the state.

Vadim Borovik summarized:

- Don't wave a checker. On behalf of the Head of State, let the relevant authorities calmly deal with it. We will conduct a clear, specific analysis. And we will see where, what and how to organize. Our task is to ensure that our citizens and our economy do not suffer from this.
