Kalugans celebrate the autumn equinox

Today, the Sun crosses the celestial equator and passes from the Northern Hemisphere to the Southern, which causes the Earth's axis to occupy such a position relative to the Sun that both hemispheres receive approximately the same amount of sunlight.
It is from this moment in the Northern Hemisphere begins astronomical autumn, and in the Southern - astronomical spring.
In Russia, many customs are associated with the autumn equinox. At this point, the harvest was completed, people arranged festive meals, held ceremonies.
In particular, our ancestors took out into the yard and burned old, unnecessary things, decorated the house with clusters of ash collected on this day, played weddings.
People believed that on the days of the equinox, the boundary between the world of the living and the world of ancestors becomes thinner. Therefore, it was customary to remember the departed relatives.
It is worth noting that many modern esoteric practices associated with the equinox are interpretations, not historical traditions.
As MK in Kaluga reported earlier, the Kaluga residents were told about the most terrible viruses.
