In the Kursk region, the prosecutor’s office through the court requires the authorities of the Fatezh district to repair a dangerous playground.
An administrative claim has been sent to the Fatezh District Court of the Kursk Region concerning the condition of children’s infrastructure facilities. The defendant in the case is a local government body, which is obliged to put in order the playing area.
The basis for applying to the court was the results of a prosecutor's inspection conducted in the Banin village council. The supervisory authority assessed how local authorities comply with the legislation when maintaining sports and gaming facilities. During the audit, violations were found in the activities of the municipal administration.
According to the case materials, the playground on the territory of the village council is in unsatisfactory technical condition and does not meet the established standards. Specialists recorded a number of serious defects: the structures have chips, burrs and dangerous sharp edges, and the coating requires updating. Such shortcomings pose a real threat to the life and health of minor visitors.
Earlier, the district prosecutor’s office had already submitted a proposal to the head of the administration of the Baninsky rural settlement with a demand to eliminate the identified shortcomings. However, as the audit showed, the orders were not fulfilled, and violations went unnoticed. In this regard, the supervisory authority was forced to apply to the court with the requirement to oblige officials to carry out repairs.
“At present, the claim has been accepted by the court for production,” the prosecutor’s office of the Kursk region said.
