Kuzbassovets will be convicted for cheating pensioners
In total, the man deceived three pensioners for 450 thousand rubles

A 36-year-old resident of Leninsk-Kuznetsky will face trial for fraud under the scheme "your relative got into trouble." This was reported in the city prosecutor's office. The man is accused of three episodes under Part 2 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
As the investigation established, in March 2026, he entered into a conspiracy with a stranger. The accused called elderly people, presented himself as a police officer and reported that their loved ones were in an accident. To “handle” the situation, pensioners were asked to transfer money. Terrified grandmothers gave savings to a taxi driver who did not even suspect that he had become a courier of scammers. The taxi driver took the money to the specified address.
In total, the man deceived three pensioners for 450 thousand rubles. He left himself 35 thousand as a reward, and transferred the rest to an accomplice. The fraudster admitted the guilt completely, but this will not save him from trial. He faces up to 5 years in prison. So that the victims could return the money, the accounts and mobile phone of the accused were seized. The case was transferred to the Leninsk-Kuznetsky City Court.
