The head of Murmansk Ivan Lebedev in social networks said that one of the most successful projects implemented for the 110th anniversary of Murmansk was the transformation of Leningradskaya Street into a pedestrian zone.
Since its opening in April, Leningradskaya Street has become a favorite place for citizens and tourists. All summer there were performers, children played, various events for all ages were held. In addition, even in autumn, the street is not empty, Murmansk residents like to walk here. In addition, greenery was planted on the street, which is cared for by the Road Administration.
It is noted that before Leningradskaya was called Olginskaya, it is also one of the oldest streets of the city. In the 1920s, a narrow gauge line passed here, fragments of its rails marked in 1915 were discovered by builders during reconstruction. Now, along with other artifacts found, they are stored in the CSTT “Homeland”.
Earlier, “MK in Murmansk” said that the past summer will be remembered by Murmansk residents as the summer of flowers.
