Will it cost more to fly? From Kuzbass can take up to 500 rubles for an air ticket
The issue is being actively discussed
If you often fly from Kemerovo or Novokuznetsk, get ready: the authorities are discussing a new fee for air passengers. We are still talking, but the prospect is real. According to Kommersant, the initiative is being worked out by the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Rostec.
Why is that necessary? Officially, to compensate for the cost of leasing and operating new Russian aircraft. Simply put, to support the domestic aviation industry. How much do you have to pay? We're not sure yet. Most sources say the amount of up to 500 rubles on domestic flights and up to 1000 rubles on international flights. But there are more bold estimates: up to 700 and 2000 rubles, respectively.
If you calculate the passenger traffic of 2025 (81.45 million on domestic flights and 27.4 million on international flights), the new fee can bring from 68 to 84 billion rubles a year. The money will go to the Ministry of Transport, and from there to leasing companies and airlines. Some may be sent to airfields, although the Ministry of Transport considers this unlikely – there is already a separate fee of 150 rubles for infrastructure, which we pay from 2025.
The good news is that after 2030, airplanes will become cheaper to produce, and collection may disappear. Until then, Kuzbass, flying to Moscow, St. Petersburg or to the south, will have to fork out.
