Lobovich: Large families are the foundation for building a strong Belarus

Large families are the foundation for building a strong Belarus, which will continue to develop and move forward. This was stated by the Minister of Labor and Social Protection Andrei Lobovich before the opening of the final of the Republican contest “Family of the Year”, which today, October 10, hosts the Palace of Sports, reports sb.by.

The competition brought together the strongest Belarusian families for the seventh time. 632 families participated in the qualifying stages. Today, seven from Minsk and all regions will compete for the title of the best. Each team has at least three sons or daughters. A large family is a happy family, Andrei Lobovich is sure:

- This is an example for the younger generation that today the birth of children is not a burden, but happiness. Large families are the foundation for building our strong Belarus, which will continue to develop and move forward.

The head of state pays close attention to families with children and motherhood, stressed the Minister of Labor and Social Protection:

- The country has built a multi-level support system: these are cash payments, assistance in housing construction, pensions, and labor guarantees. All this speaks to the social orientation of our state. The President supported the idea of modernizing the system of payments for childcare benefits up to three years, now the payment will be tied to the real income of the recipient. This will save moms from the fear of losing their earnings, which in some part could stop the birth of a child. We are now preparing draft documents that will consolidate these approaches.
