Magnetic storm will cover the Volgograd region on November 7
The cosmic chronicle: perturbations in the magnetosphere and the main spectacles of the November sky.

Geomagnetic environment
On November 7, 2026, the Earth’s magnetosphere is in an excited state. As a result of recent solar activity and the arrival of high-speed solar wind, the planetary index of geomagnetic activity ranges from 4 to 5 points. This is the boundary state between a weak G1-class geomagnetic storm and severe disturbances. The probability of these fluctuations developing into a full-fledged protracted storm is estimated by experts at 35%. Meteo-dependent people on this day are recommended to pay more attention to their health, avoid excessive physical exertion and maintain water balance. Gradual normalization of space weather is expected towards the end of the next day.
Astronomical events
The main decoration of the night is the bright Jupiter, which shines as the most noticeable object of the eastern part of the sky immediately after sunset. The gas giant is approaching its confrontation: it will stand in a straight line with the Earth and the Sun and will be as illuminated as possible, so now is the perfect time to view it even with ordinary binoculars, when the 4 largest moons are clearly visible. Not far from Jupiter, in the constellation of Gemini, there is also Mars, which stands out for its characteristic pinkish-orange shine.
At midnight, the constellation Taurus rises high above the southern horizon, where without any optical devices you can see the most beautiful star cluster of the Pleiades, resembling a tiny sparkling bucket. A thin lunar sickle appears in the sky only in the morning, illuminated by only 6%, which creates excellent conditions for observing deep space in the first half of the night. The lack of bright lunar illumination allows astronomy lovers to see meteors from the Northern Taurid stream, which are famous for their rare but very bright flashes and bolides.
