The renovation work began here at the end of last year. The task before the specialists was not easy - not only to preserve the historical appearance of the premises located on the 1st floor of the monumental "Stalinka", but also to restore the authentic Soviet interior. These are three chandeliers, carved wooden doors, oak parquet, as well as unique mosaic stained glass windows and an artistic triptych by Leonid Dudarenko dedicated to Belarusian folk wedding ceremonies.

Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, authorized representative of the Head of State in Minsk Natalia Kochanova noted the symbolism of the opening of the renovated palace on the eve of the City Day of Minsk:

- Demographic security is one of the key priorities of our country for this five-year anniversary. And you know how important spiritual, moral and family values are for us. Today, Belarus is doing everything to ensure that these traditions are passed on from generation to generation.

The Palace of Civil Rites not only preserved the former interior, but also introduced several innovations. The modern type received the input groups - acoustics and electronic queue systems are installed here. And the interior space of the first floor even increased due to the appearance of the second ceremonial hall. In addition, the rooms of the bride and groom have increased.

- The city has completed a program of reconstruction of all registry offices - places where hearts connect, - emphasized the Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev. Now it is up to young people to build the future of our country. The foundation of the state is strong families. I would like all the traditions that have been built in this building for decades to continue.

The history of the Palace of Civil Rites began on December 22, 1965, when the first recording of the act of marriage was made within its walls. Over the entire history of the institution, more than 120 thousand families were created within its walls.

- For a long time, the Palace was engaged exclusively in the registration of marriages, while remaining the only place in the city where marriages were concluded with foreigners, said Andrey Maltsev, head of the Main Department of Justice of the Minsk City Executive Committee. Now the range of services provided to citizens has expanded to the capabilities of the registry office. In particular, it is now possible to register the birth of a child. For newlyweds, the Palace of Civil Rites is very much in demand. Almost all the time the solemn registration of marriages is booked until December.

Justice Minister Yevgeny Kovalenko noted that the registry offices in Belarus annually perform about a million administrative procedures:

- We are gradually digitizing the civil status records of past years. We continue to preserve all the developments and traditions that have developed in our registry offices and which are associated with the best events in the life of each family.

The guests of honor at the opening ceremony of the Palace of Civil Rites were spouses Andrei and Marina Shved. They celebrated the 35th anniversary of married life.

- For us, this is a place of power, said Marina Evgenyevna. We registered our relationship within these walls 35 years ago, and 7 years ago our daughter did it with her chosen one. The recipe for a long life together is respect for each other, joint goals and ways to achieve them, travel. I wish young people more courage. Do not be afraid to take the responsibility of creating a family and having children.

The Kozlov family also participated in the ceremony. Dmitry and Polina will soon celebrate the anniversary of family life. They were the first couple to register their marriage in the reconstructed historical and cultural complex Loshitsky. It happened on September 12 last year.
