Millionaire from Syktyvkar caught the bait of fraudsters
We are talking about the damage of 7.5 million rubles.

In the duty part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Syktyvkar, a representative of one of the local banks appealed. He said that the client, born in 1963, is probably under the influence of fraudsters.
During the inspection, the police found out that the applicant had received a call from a stranger who called himself an employee of the Social Fund. He informed about the need to recalculate the pension and asked the woman to name the codes from the SMS – allegedly for registration of the application through “Public Services”.
Shortly after that, the Syktyvkar in the messenger received a notification of hacking an account on the state portal with an indication of a false technical support number. From this number, she was contacted by an imaginary specialist on duty. He said that due to unauthorized access, the attackers received administrative functions on the bank accounts of the woman and began to finance terrorist activities.
Having misled the pensioner, the scammers persuaded her to secure her savings and transfer them to “check”. Under psychological pressure, the woman withdrew from the account in the credit institution 7.5 million rubles. She gave the cash to the “bank inspector” who arrived at the meeting. The man handed her some documents and assured that they will soon be able to return the funds.
The victim realized that she was a victim of fraud only after a visit to the office of one of the city banks. Officers told her that the papers presented were fake.
On this fact, the investigator opened a criminal case. We are talking about signs of a crime under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - fraud on an especially large scale.
