Sentencing 44-year-old previously convicted citizen, who evaded reimbursement of funds spent by the state for the maintenance of her sons, who are on state support, told the correspondent of the agency “Minsk-Novosti” in the Prosecutor’s office of Pervomaysky district.

The accused has two sons in respect of whom she is deprived of parental rights. The children are on government support. According to the court decision, since August 2011, the woman is obliged to reimburse the costs spent by the state for their maintenance on a monthly basis.
Being officially employed as a comprehensive cleaning worker in one of the municipal organizations, the citizen due to excessive addiction to alcohol allowed absenteeism without good reason, which led to incomplete fulfillment of monthly obligations to reimburse these costs. She failed to show up for work 19 times in a month.
Employees of the enforcement department repeatedly warned her about responsibility, but the Minsk woman did not attach any importance to their words. As a result, another criminal case was opened against the negligent mother. Guilt in the court hearing, she fully admitted, in what she did repented, saying that she skipped work allegedly because of conflicts with colleagues.
- The accused was officially employed, in July 2026 she was brought to criminal responsibility for committing a similar crime, commented Yulia Lugovskaya, senior assistant prosecutor of the Pervomaysky district, who acted as a state prosecutor in the criminal case. The court found her guilty of committing a crime under Part 2 of Art. 174 of the Criminal Code (“Father evasion from the maintenance of children or from reimbursement of expenses spent by the state for the maintenance of children who are or were on state support”), and, taking into account the previous court verdict, imposed a final punishment of three months of arrest. In addition, the citizen must undergo compulsory treatment for chronic alcoholism.
