At the upcoming November 3-4, the IV Minsk Conference on Eurasian Security, a substantive dialogue is expected on the principles of building a future continental security architecture. This was stated by the Russian Ambassador to Belarus Boris Gryzlov in an interview with the magazine “National Defense”, BelTA reports.

The Minsk Conference, held at the initiative of the President of Belarus, has become an important international platform for discussing key security issues for the Eurasian space. Of course, we are waiting for a meaningful conversation about the principles on which the future continental security architecture should be built, Boris Gryzlov said.
Eurasia today is the geopolitical center of the emerging multipolar world. “The processes on our continent have a decisive impact on the trajectory of international relations. Therefore, the conversation about security should take into account the interests of all states located here. We do not specify with whom to cooperate, but we oppose the policy of disengagement and claims to regional domination. Russia and Belarus proceed from the equal right of each state to choose ways to ensure security. However, this right is inseparable from another principle: no one should enhance his security at the expense of others. Collective security will either be universal or it will not be at all, the diplomat said.
According to him, a consolidating role in this work is assigned to the Eurasian Charter for Diversity and Multipolarity in the XXI century. On September 25, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Belarus, Russia and their associates made a statement on the start of work on this document.
“All those who are willing to participate in shaping the new continental architecture of peace and development are called upon to contribute to this important undertaking. Belarus is one of the two original co-sponsors of the idea. It is possible to appoint two co-chairs. If other states do not declare their readiness to accept these functions, the Belarusian side will preside. At the same time, neither the initiators nor the chairmen have any preferences when working out the content of the charter, the Russian ambassador said.
I believe that a significant part of the expert time will be devoted to the discussion of the Charter at the upcoming Minsk Conference. I am sure we will have an interesting discussion, added Boris Gryzlov.
