Fraudsters have come up with a new scheme to return sold cars
Car owners together with accomplices can organize scams, as a result of which buyers lose both money and purchased cars

Car owners together with accomplices can organize scams, as a result of which buyers lose both money and purchased cars. According to the Telegram channel Baza, sellers themselves go out to dealers and offer them cars at a reduced price, presenting the transaction as safe: the transport allegedly belongs to the seller and has no encumbrances.
According to the channel, shortly before the sale, the owner issues a loan secured by the car. Since this information appears in the register only after a day, the buyer may not know about the pledge. After receiving the money, the seller goes to the police and claims that he was forced to take a loan, sell the car and transfer the proceeds to fraudsters.
Then the seller indicates in the application the phone number of the alleged attacker. According to the publication, later it turns out that this SIM-card previously called the buyer. This creates suspicions about the involvement of the new owner in the scam. The car can be seized as physical evidence, and the buyer can be checked for possible participation in the crime.
Even if the evidence turns out to be circumstantial and the buyer is released, fears of criminal prosecution can deter him from trying to recover the money through court. As a result, as noted by Baza, the organizers of the scheme keep the money received, and the car can later return, acting as victims.
Before that, scammers came up with a new trap with a lawyer to deceive Russians.
Also, the Russians were warned about a new scheme of fraudsters with receipts for housing and communal services.
