Fraudsters began to send Russians fake pre-trial claims
In Russia, a new scheme of fraud using email

In Russia, there is a new scheme of fraud using email. Attackers send citizens fake pre-trial claims, trying to force recipients to open malicious attachments or click on dangerous links.
To build trust, scammers are presented as employees of legal services, analytical departments or monitoring units of various organizations. In letters, they report alleged violations and offer to familiarize themselves with the case materials.
To do this, the recipient must open the attached file or click on the specified link. It is on such actions that fraudsters expect, masking malicious materials as official documents.
Sometimes letters are accompanied by fake notifications of monetary penalties. Amounts can range from several thousand to millions of rubles. The specific circumstances of the alleged violation are often not specified in the documents.
As explained in the interior Ministry, the scheme is based on psychological pressure. Threats of fines and litigation should scare the person and force them to act without checking information.
The police recommend not to open suspicious attachments, not to follow links and QR codes from such letters. It is also impossible to disclose personal data and confirmation codes from SMS to unknown persons.
If a questionable claim is received by e-mail, you should independently contact the organization on whose behalf it is sent. It is necessary to check information by official contacts, and not by phone numbers and links specified in a suspicious message.
