Interior Ministry: the day in the police received about 400 reports of calls scammers

In Belarus, over the past day, the police received about 400 reports of phone calls scammers. Thanks to the efficiency of internal affairs officers and the vigilance of citizens, the vast majority of atrocities were prevented. 36 crimes committed using information and communication technologies were registered. This was reported in the interior Ministry, writes sb.by.

The department of the organization of processing fraudulent transactions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated the blocking of nine phishing Internet resources (fake trading platforms, banks or services indistinguishable from the real ones), blocked the possibility of payments to 43 foreign payment details used by attackers, suspended spending operations on 60 accounts.

Operatives detained two couriers working in the interests of scammers. They seized about 160 thousand rubles.

According to the method of committing illegal acts, vishing on behalf of officials (telephone fraud) and theft using social networks are leading. Then there is buying goods online and trading on financial exchanges.
