Rostov racetrack will update the database of horses

Currently, restoration work is being carried out at the Rostov Hippodrome after its privatization. The new management of JSC "Rosippodromes" plans to make the Rostov Hippodrome a key test site for horses in the south of Russia.

To achieve this, a significant amount of work needs to be done, including the repair of stables and stands, which have not been updated for many years.

One of the next steps is to update the horse database, which has not been done in years. Dates have already been determined for the race season 2027, which will be held from April to September. It is expected that not only local breeds, such as Budennovskaya and Don, but also Akhal-Teke and Arab, will take part in the races. Special attention will be paid to Budennovo and Don breeds.

As Nadezhda Zubkova, head of the production department of the Rostov Hippodrome, explained, special attention will be paid to local horse breeds, which is aimed at popularizing horse breeding and equestrian sports in the Don region.

Recall that just a year earlier, the private owner of the Rostov racecourse was going to close the facility and arrange large-scale development on the territory. But Don's cavalry didn't back down, they turned to the media for help. The news went to the federal level. The Prosecutor General’s Office is interested in the story. After April 2026, in the court of the Krasnodar Territory, the sale of the racecourse was recognized as illegal. The property was returned to federal ownership.
