In Kuban, students of the media school “Profi Children” learned how journalists check information

Pupils of Olesia Moskovtseva Media School “PROFI CHILDREN” met with Andrey Arendarenko, a public figure and editor-in-chief of Kuban Today media holding, and Inna Arendarenko, a lawyer and founder of the Golden Rule law firm. Young correspondents asked questions about journalism, family values and personal goals, as well as trained in conducting interviews. The meeting was held within the framework of the joint educational project of Yugopolis and the media school.

One of the students asked Andrey Arendarenko how to distinguish a real fact from a fake and what rules for checking information are used by the editorial board. The editor-in-chief explained that journalists check information with official sources and apply to relevant departments to confirm or refute the information. “It is therefore not so much the speed that matters to us as the accuracy of the information. And there is a second point: if one of our colleagues, also the media, released the news first, we have the opportunity to make a reference to the source, to them. We always check the information for reliability, so that it was objective, adequate, — said Arendarenko.

The meeting was not just about the media. Andrey and Inna Arendarenko also shared their personal dreams. Andrey said that he and his wife have already visited 64 countries and would like to visit even more, including the North and South Poles. He also noted that he now pays more attention to sports.

Inna Arendarenko, according to her, has a large wish list: in her notes, about 70 points are recorded, which are gradually being implemented. “And, of course, I want peace. The world wants peace, concluded the founder of the law firm.

During the meeting, the participants also touched upon the topics of business and media, positive thinking, long-term family strategy and the impact of gadgets on everyday life. In particular, we discussed how to make real life so rich and interesting that the phone does not become the main source of impressions.

The meeting was organized by Olesya Moskovtseva, the founder and ideological inspirer of Olesya Moskovtseva Media Schools “Profi Children”. The project has been operating since 2003 and combines three areas: business education, media education for children and early career guidance for young people.

Recall that in the first issue of the project, children talked about the profession of a teacher and about what superpowers teachers could have.
