Navigation closes in Karelia

In Karelia, the date of completion of navigation for small vessels has been determined. This is reported by the State Committee for Security of the Republic.

According to the order of the Ministry, access to the water will be prohibited:

• From November 9 – in Kalevalsky and Loukhsky districts, White Sea, Kemsky, Kostomuksha, Medvezhyegorsky, Muezersky and Segezhsky municipal districts.

• From November 14 – in Kondopozhsky, Olonets, Pryazhinsky, Prionezhsky, Pudoga districts, Lakhdenpokhsky, Pitkärantsky, Sortavalsky and Suoyarva municipal districts, as well as in Petrozavodsk urban district.

After the end of the season, boatmasters must preserve their boats. Going to the water at the end of these deadlines will be an administrative offense, for which the owners of the boats will be responsible.

Restrictions are introduced for safety reasons, since the operation of small vessels in the conditions of final navigation is associated with high risks.
