The Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Education and Science announced a warning to the Novgorod State University named after Yaroslav the Wise

The Federal Service for Supervision of Education and Science has issued a warning to the Yaroslav the Wise Novgorod State University.
Novgorod State University named after Yaroslav the Wise issued certificates to foreign citizens confirming that their level of knowledge of the Russian language, Russian history and the basics of legislation meets the requirements for obtaining a work permit or a patent. Certificates were issued in 2025-2026.
At the same time, foreign citizens who received certificates lacked even minimal knowledge of the Russian language: they could not communicate on social and domestic issues, were not able to independently get a job, contact the police or a doctor, and did not understand the speech addressed to them - they were not even able to understand the meaning of the interlocutor's address or audio message.
A warning was issued to the educational institution.
Since November 2017, the rector of Yaroslav the Wise Novgorod State University is Yuri Borovikov.
