The remains of 25 Soviet soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War, discovered during the search, with all honors today, October 9, reburied in the Lioznensky district of the Vitebsk region, reports the correspondent of sb.by.

During the excavations on the territory of the Krynkovsk Village Council, servicemen of the 52nd Specialized Search Battalion of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, together with search teams and clubs, discovered the remains of 22 Red Army men, explosive objects, small arms, fragments of field kitchen and household items.
Of particular value are the personalized cigarette case of Sergeant Vasily Vasilyevich Grishin and the Order of Glory of the III degree. According to archival data, it was established that the award belonged to the junior sergeant, the shooter of the 10th ski company of the 174th rifle division, a native of the Chelyabinsk region Ivan Mikhailovich Frolov, who died in battle in 1944 and was previously listed in the local military grave. Today, his ashes, together with his comrades in battle, have once again found eternal peace on the Krynkovskaya land. The other heroes remain unnamed. The fallen warriors found their eternal refuge under the volleys of weapons in the presence of representatives of local authorities, the public, schoolchildren and search engines at a brotherly military burial in the agro-town of Krynki.

Three more unknown fighters who fell in the fierce battles of 1943-1944 were reburied in the village of Vishni of the Babinovichi village council. Their remains of the army, together with the search club "Vitebsk frontier" found during field search in the vicinity.

It is symbolic that the reburial ceremonies were held on the eve of the Lioznensky District Liberation Day from the Nazi invaders, thereby confirming the gratitude of descendants to the fallen heroes. Chairman of the Lioznen District Executive Committee Ivan Fedorov on behalf of today's Lioznen residents assured:
- Unfortunately, we do not know their names, but we do know that they are heroes to us because they gave their lives for our freedom and independence. Now they will be laid to rest next to their fighting comrades, and we will traditionally come here, bring flowers and bow low for the feat they performed more than 80 years ago.

The head of the district thanked everyone who took part in the excavations, searchers, volunteers, caring citizens, who in their personal time are engaged in a grateful cause to perpetuate the heroes of bygone days.

The importance of historical memory during the reburial ceremony was emphasized by the General Director of UE “Vitebskobgaz”, member of the Presidium of the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly, deputy of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies Alexander Brantsevich:
Liozna land, as well as the whole Vitebsk region, Belarus, through which fascist troops walked during the Great Patriotic War, still keeps many remains of fallen soldiers, officers of the Red Army. It is our sacred duty to bring back those people. The heirs of the victors should honor and preserve this sacred memory, because this is our history, our roots. It's not the dead, it's the living, especially the young. As long as we remember those terrible events, we will not allow them to be repeated on our Belarusian soil. The remains of more than 40 Red Army soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War were reburied in Kamenets
