In Chuvashia, those who have just celebrated 18 years old and participate in elections for the first time in their lives come to the polling stations, and those who are over 90. By the way, among those who voted there is the oldest participant of the elections from the Kozlovsky district — 101-year-old Valentina Chelysheva. She was able to vote at home.
And in the Morgaush district, Eva Stepanova came to the site No. 1219 exactly on the day of her majority. For her, it's a "double celebration": a birthday and her first ever vote: "Today I'm 18." And this day will be remembered not only for the cake and congratulations, but also for the first time I came to the polling station and made a very responsible step for my country. Voting is a real way to be heard. For me, it is a symbol of transition to adulthood. Let my voice become part of the overall decision, Eva shared her emotions.
In Novocheboksarsk, among the voters was a 96-year-old veteran of the Great Patriotic War, the first builder of the city Vitaly Sergeev. Despite his age, he remains an active participant in patriotic meetings and regularly communicates with young people, says the state public of the Administration of Novocheboksarsk.
In Batyrevo, the spouses of Leontyeva came to the site together. Alexander Stepanovich - 89 years, Venus Konstantinovna - 80. Together they have been voting hand in hand for decades: We are voting not for ourselves, but for the future of our children and grandchildren. “Let the youth take an example from us,” they say.
Observers note that the polling stations are especially united: both the youngest and the oldest voters come to vote, despite the difference in experience and views.
