The Department of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation of Kotlas Central City Hospital celebrates its 40th anniversary. This was reported in the Ministry of Health of the Arkhangelsk region.
The office was opened in 1986. Today there are 16 doctors of anesthesiologists-resuscitators and 35 nurses. Specialists save patients in the most severe conditions, provide anesthesiological support for all types of operations and work in a state of constant readiness.
At the time of opening, the department had a minimum set of equipment. Now at the disposal of doctors modern devices for monitoring the patient and artificial ventilation of the lungs, ultrasound diagnostics and other high-tech equipment that allows you to evaluate any indicator of the body in real time.
The department is headed by Dmitry Khabarov, a representative of the medical dynasty. His father, an anesthesiologist-resuscitator, for many years headed this department, and now works as a doctor in the SVO zone. Dmitry continued the family business and took the leadership.
According to him, all assistance is aimed at saving a person and transferring him to colleagues in specialized departments. Doctors conduct intensive therapy for strokes, heart attacks, severe injuries, infections and poisoning, and children - for any threatening conditions. In addition, they provide anesthesiological support for all operations and manipulations: in the delivery room, surgery, urology, otorhinolaryngology, traumatology, vascular surgery and wherever pain relief or medical sleep is needed.
Patients are in a serious and extremely serious condition, so doctors need to act quickly and accurately. Experts emphasize that resuscitation is a team work, where everyone is ready to help a colleague. It is no coincidence that many doctors work here from generation to generation.
The anesthesiologist-resuscitator Alexander Korotkov is one of those who stood at the origins of the department. He came to Kotlas in 1976, first worked as a pediatrician for ten years, and with the opening of the hospital in 1986 he moved to anesthesiology-resuscitation.
Korotkov noted that resuscitation is a special world where you can not work half-heartedly. Even with experience, he is taught by young colleagues who come with new knowledge and modern approaches. He stressed that the department has a good team, where everyone should feel the shoulder of the other, because the patient’s life depends on the coherence of the team.
For decades, an anesthetic nurse Ekaterina Bakhtina has been working alongside doctors. Colleagues appreciate her not only as a professional, but also as a sensitive mentor. She considers it important not only to do your job well, but also to pass on experience to young people. According to her, the highest skill is to understand the doctor in the operating room without a single word, and responsibility for the lives of people does not allow you to relax.
Minister of Health of the region Dmitry Bogdanov stressed the importance of the department for the southern municipalities of the Arkhangelsk region. He said that he started his career in northern medicine in this department and worked there for 14 years, so he understands how important and responsible the work of each employee is. Bogdanov congratulated the team on its anniversary and wished professional success, perseverance and health, noting that together they will continue to strengthen the anesthesiology and resuscitation service, so that assistance to residents of the region remains timely and high-quality.
