Rospotrebnadzor in St. Petersburg and Leningrad region announced a warning of the State Unitary Enterprise “Vodokanal of St. Petersburg”, the general director of which is Vitaly Pirogov. The reason was the appeal of St. Petersburg, in which he said that on the toilet in Kronstadt Latin letters were much more Russian. This became known from the data of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation.
According to the application of 11 September, on 6 August the applicant sent a written claim to Vodokanal, in which he indicated that the sign at the entrance to the public toilet on the Sovetskaya, 35, letter A, the Latin letters WC were much larger than the Russian word “toilet”. This, according to the applicant, leads to the “visual dominance of a foreign designation over the text in the state language of the Russian Federation”.
From the company he received a response, where it was reported that the sign will be dismantled on November 1, on the facade there is a duplicate inscription in Russian in two versions, and the placement of information indicators in their competence is not included.
Rospotrebnadzor issued a warning against “Vodokanal of St. Petersburg” because of the violation of the law “On Protection of Consumer Rights” – the Russian text had to match the size of the text in Latin.
According to Kontur.Focus, the State Unitary Enterprise Vodokanal of St. Petersburg is the defendant in 112 cases for a total of 9.2 billion rubles.
