Resident of Voronezh became the record holder for the number of unwanted calls: recorded almost 14 thousand attempts to reach him

A resident of Voronezh became the record holder for the number of unwanted calls: almost 14 thousand attempts to reach him were recorded. This was reported on November 6 in the press service of MTS.
In the first nine months of 2026, the Defender service detected and blocked more than 15 million suspicious calls in the Voronezh region.
Among the most common fraud schemes are calls on behalf of employees of pension and social services, mail, delivery services, couriers of marketplaces and representatives of government departments.
Also in the region recorded a large number of spam calls. Residents were imposed on banking and financial services, advertised goods and services, and invited to participate in surveys. There were also calls from collectors.
According to MTS analysts, in 2026 the share of multi-stage fraudulent schemes doubled in the Voronezh region. If in the three quarters of last year they accounted for up to 30% of cases, this year the figure reached 60%.
Such schemes involve several consecutive calls. Attackers impersonate representatives of different departments, increase psychological pressure and try to force a person to transfer money or disclose personal data.
The most active fraudsters used such methods in June, July and September. A year earlier, bursts of activity occurred in January, February and April.
