Help from the first days: what parents need to know about OMS for a newborn
Compulsory health insurance policy is a document that guarantees the child free medical care throughout the country

Policies are generated automatically
From birth, the necessary medical care for the baby is provided by the mother's policy. After the birth of the baby is registered by the registry office, on the basis of birth certificate data for the child, an MHI policy is automatically formed. It can be viewed and downloaded in the personal account of one of the parents on the portal "Public Services" in the section "Health".
Independently, parents for a child need to choose an insurance medical organization (CMO). This can also be done through the portal "Public Services", in the section "Health" - "Management of the MHI policy" - "Child". Another option is to apply in person at the office of the insurance medical organization. You can contact one of the CMOs that work in the region. The list of companies is on the website of the territorial Fund MHI. If the application for the choice of SMO is not submitted, the child will be automatically insured in the insurance company of one of the parents.
At the request of the parents, the insurance company can be changed. According to the current legislation, you can apply for a replacement of the SFR once a year no later than November 1 - or more often, when changing your place of residence.
Attachment to the clinic
Also, through "Public Services" you can attach to the clinic. A minor child is attached to the clinic by a parent or legal representative. The choice of a medical organization for a child can also be made through the "Public Services" (the parent must add the child to his profile) or personally in the registry of a medical organization with documents.
You can choose a clinic not only at the address of registration. The law allows you to choose a medical organization at the place of actual residence, as well as near work, study, etc. At the same time, it is important to remember that if you join a clinic that does not serve the address of your residence, you will not be able to call a doctor at home.
