President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh arrived in Belarus for the first time on an official visit. The significance of this trip, the prospects for cooperation between Minsk and Ulaanbaatar was told by the chairman of the Belarusian party “White Rus” Olga Chemodanova on the air of the talk show “Budni” on “SBTV” and “Alfa Radio”, writes sb.by.
According to Olga Chemodanova, the visit of the President of Belarus to Mongolia in 2024 was the starting point for intensifying bilateral relations.
- Our President sets the very trajectory of development, which in the future is the main way for us to build cooperation at the level of industries, she said. The President of Mongolia has arrived in Belarus. It was a warm, friendly visit, and on the first day of the meeting it was noticeable. I am sure that the official talks that are taking place today and the holding of a business forum in the future will not just be a meeting and not just a dialogue. We will talk about specific projects. The head of state has already focused on agreements on their implementation. These will be real events that will affect the economies of both countries in the future.
Speaking about possible areas of cooperation, Olga Chemodanova noted the rich natural and resource potential of Mongolia. She recalled her participation in the World Women’s Forum held in Ulaanbaatar.
- I saw with my own eyes the opportunities of this country and, most importantly, the people who live in Mongolia and work for the benefit of their state. During the trip we got acquainted with the culture and history of Mongolia. One of the main factors in the development of the country remains its natural resources - primarily minerals: coal, copper, gold and others.
The mining industry plays a significant role in the economy of Mongolia. According to the guest of the program, the industry forms about 30% of the country's GDP and provides about 90% of exports.
- Agree, these are quite high and serious indicators, she said.

- Agriculture is actively developing. Livestock breeding is one of the priority areas in the country, said Olga Chemodanova. - Sheep breeding, horse breeding and other branches of livestock breeding are developed. Due to this, the country produces environmentally friendly food. In addition, Mongolia is known for its wool and cashmere, which are the brand of this country. These areas can also become the basis for the development of Belarusian-Mongolian cooperation.
Olga Chemodanova drew attention to the fact that China remains the main consumer of Mongolian products, and Russia is the key supplier for the country. Belarus can also find its own niches for cooperation with Mongolia. As one of the promising directions, the guest of the program named the development of roads and railways.
- Belarus is famous primarily for people who know how to work and produce quality products. These are not only agricultural products, but also our industrial potential. We see that the industry is developing quite actively today and makes a serious contribution to the economy, said Olga Chemodanova. Yes, there is competition, it cannot be ignored. But in any case, we enter the world market with the flagships of our industry. I think many areas will be of interest to the Mongolian leadership.
The talk show “Budney” is released on weekdays in the morning on “Alpha Radio”. Each issue discusses the most relevant topics from the life of the country and the world.
