Reconstruction of treatment plants in Serpukhov will go another year
The head of Serpukhov Alexey Shimko assessed the progress of reconstruction of urban treatment facilities
Technological equipment is fully purchased, its installation is underway. In a few months, the contractor will begin testing and installing the automation.
This year, a modern laboratory for water quality control will be opened. In February, they plan to commission key facilities: a dewatering sludge workshop, a grid building and an ultraviolet aftertreatment system. The entire cleaning cycle will be automatic, the output will be water that is safe by fish farm standards.
Reconstruction of treatment plants in Serpukhov is one of the largest projects of the Moscow region. Large-scale modernization has not been here since the 1970s, it has been waiting for more than 50 years, Shimko said.
Full modernization will be completed by October 2027.
