Rostransnadzor found shortcomings on the ways of the Kaliningrad commercial port

Rostransnadzor announced a warning to Kaliningrad Commercial Sea Port JSC due to the inconsistency of the railway track with regulatory requirements. The note concerns the width of the ballast prism on arrow number 1. This is stated in the materials of preventive measures.

The violation was revealed during an on-site examination on October 28. Experts have found that the width of the shoulder of the ballast prism on the arrow, located on the routes of private use of the port, does not meet the standards for railway tracks on wooden sleepers.

According to the rules of technical operation of railways, the width of this part of the ballast prism should be at least 200 mm for sections of the link track. Failure to comply may affect the safety of rail traffic and operation.

MTU Rostransnadzor in the North-Western Federal District proposed the port to bring railway facilities and equipment in accordance with the standards, as well as to ensure proper maintenance and repair of tracks.
