Forward of St. Petersburg “Zenit” Egor Evstafiev noted a spectacular hit from his half of the court under the siren about the end of the first quarter of the regular championship match against Moscow CSKA. The meeting was held on November 8 at the capital’s Megasport arena.
The episode took place at the very end of the opening ten minutes. After the free throw of the army, the St. Petersburgers had less than two seconds to return the attack. The 20-year-old basketball player received the ball in his half of the court and immediately sent it towards the opponent's ring.
The precise long throw sparked a reaction on the Zenit bench: reserve players jumped from their seats and team head coach Dusko Ivanovic raised one hand.
As a result, Zenit lost to CSKA with a score of 68:80. For St. Petersburg, this defeat was the second in the current regular championship.
Note that for Zenit and CSKA this game was the first face-to-face meeting in the season-2026/2027. The Moscow club approached the match without defeats in the current regular championship.
