“Peter I’s saber brought to Kemerovo”: a unique exhibition will open in Kuzbass
In total, 53 museum objects were brought

In Kuzbass for the first time brought personal belongings of Peter I. The exhibition "Peter the Great and the Russian army" will open on October 30. This was told by Fedor Zorin from the Military Historical Museum of St. Petersburg.
53 museum objects were brought from the middle of the XVII to the beginning of the XX century. There are several relics that belonged to Peter personally. This is the belt porte and sword blade with which he was in the Azov campaigns. Most of the exhibits outside our museum are exhibited for the first time. And we brought them to Kemerovo, says Zorin.
Particular attention is drawn to the bronze copy of the mask of the king.
“Peter originally had two masks. One is lifetime. He shaved off his mustache, put a cast on him, breathed through straws in his nose. And the second is a posthumous, filmed in December 1725. The plaster is fragile, so they immediately cast. We have a bronze mask from 1900 from the collection of the Life Guards of the Kexholm regiment, which was also founded by Peter.
The local history museum noted: personal belongings will reveal Peter I as a commander, reformer and creator. And the audience will learn how his decisions influenced the history of Kuzbass and the development of the region for centuries to come.
The exhibition will run until May 23, 2027.
