The hunting season for white-headed, gray, goose-goose and Canadian goose will last in Belarus from September 19 to December 13.

The hunting season for white-headed, gray, goose-goose and Canadian goose will last in Belarus from September 19 to December 13, 2026, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports with reference to the Belarusian Society of Hunters and Fishermen (BOAR).

During this period, individuals of any gender and age can be obtained. Hunting is allowed in the daytime from an ambush, from the approach, from the entrance from small vessels without an engine or with a idle engine. It is allowed to use smoothbore hunting weapons and shotguns, as well as to use hunting dogs of all groups, except for hounds and greyhounds. Gunless hunting with the use of birds is allowed.
The BOAR warned about the serious consequences of even unintentional prey in the process of hunting a wild animal not classified as a hunting animal or not specified in the hunting tour. For this, you can lose the opportunity to engage in amateur hunting for a long time. Therefore, it is important to be able to distinguish between hunting animals, to know the distinctive features of wild animals that are not hunting, including those included in the Red Book of Belarus.
It is noted that the probability of encountering rare birds, including Red Book birds, is much higher in autumn, when they migrate en masse. In addition to the gray crane or black stork, you can see other rare birds, which are forbidden to hunt. For example, this is a squirrel goose, externally similar to a white-headed goose. The main unwritten rule of the hunter is still relevant: not sure - do not shoot.
When hunting "by pen" you can not carry or use rifled weapons (including combined), hunting bows and crossbows, as well as bullets or bullets.
With legal stay in the hunting grounds for hunting, its lovers are allowed to hunt a wolf, jackal, fox, raccoon dog, crow gray, magpies. At the same time, you can use only methods and tools allowed for hunting hunting animals specified in the tour.
The extraction of a wild animal not classified as a hunting animal or not specified in the voucher (except for undesirable species) during hunting makes it illegal. This entails administrative or criminal liability. In addition, the offender will have to compensate for the damage caused to the environment.
