Goose hunting season opens in Belarus on September 19
During this period, you can get animals of any sex and age. Hunting is allowed in the daytime from an ambush, from the approach, as well as from the entrance on small vessels without an engine or with a idle engine.

From September 19 to December 13, 2026, hunting for geese is allowed in Belarus: white-headed, groove, gray and Canadian gazelle. This was reported by the Belarusian Society of Hunters and Fishers.
During this period, you can get animals of any sex and age. Hunting is allowed in the daytime from an ambush, from the approach, as well as from the entrance on small vessels without an engine or with a idle engine. Allowed smoothbore weapons and bullets with shot, the use of hunting dogs of all groups, except for hounds and greyhounds. Gunless hunting with hunting birds is also allowed.
The BOAR warned that even the accidental extraction of an animal that is not related to hunting or not specified in the tour can result in serious consequences - up to the deprivation of the right to amateur hunting. Therefore, every hunter must clearly distinguish species and know the signs of Red Book animals.
In autumn, at the height of migration, the risk of encountering rare birds increases. In addition to the gray crane and black stork, the goose of the squirrel can get into view - it looks like a white-headed one.
“When conducting any hunt, you should always remember the main unwritten rule of the hunter: I’m not sure – do not shoot,” the BOAR stressed.
When hunting "by pen" it is forbidden to carry and use rifled weapons (including combined), bows, crossbows and cartridges with bullets or kettle.
In addition, when lawfully staying in the grounds for hunting purposes, it is allowed to hunt a wolf, jackal, fox, raccoon dog, gray crow and magpies - but only by those methods and tools that are permissible for the species indicated in the ticket.
The extraction of animals not classified as hunting or not specified in the permit (except for undesirable species) is illegal. This entails administrative (part 1 of article 16.27 of the administrative code) or criminal (article 282 of the criminal code) responsibility, as well as the obligation to compensate for damage to the environment.
