Smolyans took first place at the All-Russian festival of innovative sports

Student Sports Club “Smolenskaya Fortress” (Smolenskaya Fortress) demonstrated high results at the All-Russian Festival of Innovative Sports among students of professional educational organizations. Competitions were held in Stupino near Moscow as part of the national project “Youth and Children”. The event, organized by the Youth of Russia association with the support of the relevant ministries of education and sports of the Russian Federation, gathered about 200 participants from 16 regions of the country.

The program of the festival included competitions in fijital sports, in particular in the disciplines of tactical shooting and rhythm simulator, sports programming, as well as team races of unmanned aerial vehicles. Representatives of the Smolensk Academy of Vocational Education distinguished themselves in the discipline “Tactical Shooting” where they took first place among 22 teams.

The success of the club is the result of systematic development of innovative directions. The team demonstrates stable progress: if in 2025 at the first festival dedicated to the feat of St. Mercury of Smolensk, they took third place, then in 2026 they managed to climb to the top of the pedestal at the all-Russian level.

Commenting on the development of this direction, the Governor of the Smolensk region Vasily Anokhin stressed that the region pays priority attention to computer sports, programming and fijital disciplines. He noted that the Smolensk region has become one of the pilot regions for the introduction of a new model of sports spaces. According to the head of the region, the training of athletes in computer sports has been conducted on the basis of Jubilee for several years, and recently in Smolensk a second venue for fijital sports was opened. The new center is equipped with modern gaming stations, latest-generation consoles, equipment for virtual reality, laser tag and drone racing.
