It is impossible to hide, erase content in the twenty-first century. Ivan Eismont on blocking a number of Belarusian media on YouTube

Recently, YouTube blocked TV channels, Radio Kultura BY, Radio Stalitsa and the First Channel of Belarusian Radio. About why it was done and what can be the answer, in the program “Budni” on “SBTV” and “Alfa Radio” discussed the Chairman of the National state television and radio company of the Republic of Belarus Ivan Eismont, reports sb.by.

Ivan Eismont stressed that it is not just about politics:

I am sure that they want to clean the site so that there is no trace of our state media. We are ready for any development. I know the position of many leaders of our major state media. It's been a long time. Intensively developing alternative platforms, where the audience is growing. And there we are actively watched from the same place where they looked at YouTube: from Ukraine, Germany, the United States and so on. It is impossible to hide or erase content in the XXI century. There are a lot of places, and if people want to hear and see some information, they will find it.

- There have been calls to block YouTube, a lot of talk about it lately. However, the position of the Ministry of Information is rather restrained. Many Belarusian media leaders, by the way, hold the same opinion. It is clear that nothing good will happen if everything that expresses our state point of view disappears on YouTube, and only anti-Belarusian propaganda content funded by Western foundations will remain on this video platform. Imagine what the opinion of the country will be formed by those who will receive only such information. That is why we work on the Internet. What decision will be made in the end, I do not know. But top executives at state-run media are generally of the view that YouTube’s actions could eventually lead to the blocking of the platform in Belarus, which would only benefit national security.

- Whatever the leading Western media or kopeks (German, Belgian, French, Danish), the threads are sure to lead to hosts who are somewhere in the US or the UK. Donald Trump has denied three media access to his residence, and American television networks are protesting. The words of the American leader [at the opening of the helipad on the South Lawn of the White House] were incomprehensible because of marriage by sound. American television broadcasters are not protesting against the infringement of freedom of speech. The bottom line is that they used to have an absolute monopoly on public opinion in the U.S., access to any president, spitting information as they wanted. Now such an opportunity is being taken away from them, the supports that allowed them to manipulate public consciousness are being knocked out from under their feet. And that's why it's so hard. The media is a powerful weapon in the hands of globalists. What it is, Western freedom of speech, we see in the example of blocking our YouTube channels. There is an information war going on.
