The traffic police will hold a single day of road safety under the motto “Don’t be invisible – light up in the dark!” September 25, reports the correspondent of the agency “Minsk-Novosti”.

The photo is illustrative in nature

The action will be dedicated to the promotion of the use of retro-reflective elements and high-visibility vests by pedestrians and drivers.

With the onset of the autumn-winter period, the daylight decreases, and early twilight, fog and rain worsen visibility. Without a flicker, the driver will notice a person at a distance of only 25-40 m with a flicker - 130-140 m, and in high light - up to 400 m.

Increase visibility is necessary for cyclists and drivers of personal mobility. At night, they should have flickers, and on transport – lights are included. Outside settlements, cyclists and users of SMM need high visibility clothing.

The traffic police also reminds car drivers of the need to reduce speed at transitions, stops and in residential areas, and in case of breakdown or accident to use vests with reflective elements.
