The court of the Tver region sentenced in the case of violence against the police

The Rameshkovsky district court considered a criminal case against a citizen accused of using violence dangerous to life or health, against a police officer, the press service of the judicial body said.

It is indicated that the citizen was intoxicated in the corridor of the police station and expressed dissatisfaction with the lawful demands of the police officer. Realizing that before him a representative of the authorities in the performance of his duties, the defendant at least once struck him in the area of the anterior tibia of his left leg, causing physical pain and bodily injury that did not cause harm to his health.

The defendant in court fully admitted guilt, repented, apologized to the victim and voluntarily compensated for moral damage.

The court examined the evidence and found the guilt of the defendant proved. The citizen was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and, taking into account the circumstances of the case, he was sentenced to three years of suspended imprisonment with a three-year probationary period. During the probationary period, the convict was obliged to appear once a month for registration in a specialized state body.
