The court in Kursk recovered 1.7 million rubles from the culprit of a fatal accident on a wet road

The industrial district court of Kursk considered the case of a fatal accident that occurred in October 2025 on the street Park Solyanka. There collided Nissan Almera and VAZ-21150.

According to the materials of the case, the driver of the Nissan was driving on a wet road in the rain and did not provide constant control of the car. In the area with a dangerous turn, the car drifted. He went into the oncoming lane and collided with VAZ. The driver of the domestic car was seriously injured and ten days later died in hospital.

In court, the accused pleaded guilty, apologized and partially compensated moral damage. The court took these circumstances into account when imposing the sentence.

Having studied the case materials, testimony of witnesses and the results of examinations, the court concluded that the traffic violation was in direct causal connection with the consequences. At the same time, there was no objective data on the speed of the car at the time of the accident. Therefore, the charge of driving at a speed of more than 60 km / h and violation of paragraph 10.2 of traffic rules was excluded.

The court found the driver guilty, he was assigned 2 years of forced labor with 10% of salary in the state income. He was also deprived of the right to manage transport for 2 years.

Civil claims for compensation for moral damage were satisfied. In favor of the wife of the deceased recovered 700 thousand rubles, in favor of his underage daughter – 1 million rubles. The question of the amount of monthly payments to the daughter was transferred for consideration in civil proceedings. The sentence has not yet entered into force.
