Darkness engulfs one of the villages in Kineshem district

The Kineshem City Court satisfied the demands of the prosecutor’s office, which defended the rights of residents of the village of Golovinskaya in Batmanovo settlement.

The reason for the intervention was the numerous appeals of citizens from the village to the lack of normal light on the streets.

The inspection confirmed the fears of people: the available number of lights does not meet the standards and does not provide an adequate level of illumination.

According to the supervisory authority, this directly violated the rights of citizens to personal safety in the dark and posed a threat to their life and health.

The court found the inaction of the authorities illegal and ordered the administration of the Batmanovo rural settlement to equip outdoor street lighting in the village until June 1, 2027. As specified in the Joint press service of courts of general jurisdiction of the Ivanovo region, the court decision has not yet entered into legal force.
