In the Tyumen region are preparing additional safety measures on the roads for the off-season. The decisions were made by the regional project group on road safety, the meeting of which was held by Deputy Governor of the Tyumen region Sergey Shustov.
Sergey Shustov said that before the autumn holidays in schools held meetings with parents and children about how to behave on the roads during the holidays. According to him, in preparation for the winter checked the state of the equipment that will serve the street-road network in the autumn-winter period, as well as the presence of anti-icing mixtures. He added that the region is ready for winter.
The head of the Department of traffic Inspectorate of the Tyumen region Andrey Miller called the main achievement of reducing the number of deaths in road accidents. According to the traffic police, this year in road accidents in the region killed 135 people against 151 for the same period last year, and the total number of accidents decreased by 98.
Ahead of the most insidious segment is the transition from autumn to winter: the weather is unstable, visibility worsens, and ice appears suddenly. Right now, drivers and pedestrians need the utmost care, because the risk of accidents during this period is highest.
