In Veliky Novgorod, the first stage of improvement of the territory near the park "Derevyanitsky Grove" was completed, where at the request of local residents, a 200-meter fence was installed around the old cemetery, the city administration reported. Now a walk in the park will be more pleasant and psychologically comfortable for Novgorod residents.

Last week, MKU "City Economy" completed the installation of the first stage of the fence. The work was initiated by the residents of the village, having voiced this problem at a meeting within the framework of the governor’s project “Social Route”. The quality of the work was checked by the mayor of the city Alexander Rozbaum and the management of the relevant municipal institution.
In 2026, the improvement of the facility will continue: it is planned to install a fence from the central entrance and from the opposite side of the cemetery. In addition, at the suggestion of the head of the city on the border of the zones plan to plant a hedge of lilac.
