In the Irkutsk region, 70% of breast cancer cases are detected in the early stages
Large-scale events of the traditional annual month of breast cancer awareness and the fight against cancer are held in the Angara region

In the Angara region, large-scale events of the traditional annual month of awareness about breast cancer and the fight against cancer are held. The platform for professional dialogue was the Irkutsk Regional Oncology Dispensary, where three scientific and practical conferences were held. The events brought together oncologists, employees of outpatient oncology centers, nurses and health care organizers from all over the region. This is reported by the press service of the regional government.
Experts note that malignant neoplasms of the breast retain the first place in the structure of female oncopathology in the region, while the disease is increasingly common in young patients.
Currently, about 13.8 thousand women with this diagnosis are registered at the dispensary in the Irkutsk region, of which 8.8 thousand have successfully overcome the five-year survival threshold. The incidence statistics show a gradual increase: last year, doctors first identified 1.3 thousand cases, and for nine months of this year, the diagnosis was confirmed in 969 residents of the region.
The key positive factor is the high effectiveness of early diagnosis: in 70% of cases, pathology can be detected at the initial stages. Such indicators can be achieved due to the availability of modern methods of examination, regular medical examinations and increasing awareness of women about the need for timely preventive examinations.
