In Ivanovo schools thanks to the program “Zemsky teacher” came to work 14 teachers

Schools of the Ivanovo region from September 1, 2026 strengthened the staff: 14 teachers who won the state project “Zemsky Teacher” began their work. Each specialist who agreed to move to the outback or small urban settlements, transferred a lump sum payment of 1 million rubles. For the next season, it is planned to attract 9 more specialists to district educational centers thanks to the current state support mechanism.

During 2026, the jury received 303 candidate questionnaires, among which only 14 applicants were recognized as the best. Experts of the profile committee assessed the professional level of applicants along with their readiness to conduct classes in several related subjects. Thanks to this selection, elementary-level teachers, dictionaries, physical instructors, geographers, laborers, as well as teachers of German and English joined the teams of institutions in Teikov, Vichuga, Kokhma, districts of Shui, Komsomol, Zavolzhsky, Ilyinsky, Kineshemsky, in the territories of Ivanovo and Palekh districts.

Interregional cooperation is also noteworthy: in addition to local personnel, rural and district educational institutions attracted subject students from the Yaroslavl Land, the Krasnodar Territory, the Bryansk region, as well as from the Donetsk People’s Republic.

The founder of the large-scale initiative “Zemsky Teacher” was Russian leader Vladimir Putin. The main objective of the project is to overcome the acute shortage of qualified mentors within provincial educational institutions. Selection triumphants sign a contract guaranteeing their five-year uninterrupted employment at the institution. At the same time, a prerequisite is the remoteness of the new location from the previous address of residence for at least 50 kilometers.

Starting on Ivanovo land in 2020, this government measure has allowed to close vacancies already 57 visiting subjects.

At the same time, an extensive system of stimulating the pedagogical community operates within the boundaries of the province. For mentoring over the class or student flow of the school, 3,000 rubles are charged monthly, and before the Knowledge Day they pay 10,000 rubles at a time. There are also monetary awards for those whose pupils won prizes in the finals of the All-Russian School Olympiad or tournaments from ministerial lists. In the current period, a fresh benefit has been earned: high-scoring mentors are encouraged with an exam score of 85 points, who chose regional institutes and universities for further education. In addition, the head of the region Stanislav Voskresensky insisted on facilitating the conditions for obtaining the title of “Veteran of Labor of the Ivanovo region”, reducing the qualification to 25 years of continuous school service.

Close attention is paid to the cultivation of reserves and assistance to beginners. For repayment of housing loans to beginners of the profession, a targeted subsidy of 900 thousand rubles is allocated. The result of systematic actions was the arrival of more than 160 novice teachers in Ivanovo schools this year, which is twice higher than last season.
