The project “Making History Together: Renovating the School Museum” won the competition of initiatives of parent communities. It is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Education of Russia.
With these funds purchased and installed new equipment: stands and showcases. There are three thematic areas in the museum. One of the main expositions is devoted to the Great Patriotic War. It contains historical materials, including an exposition about the veteran Nikolai Senchenko, whose fate is connected with the history of the region and the school.
Work to preserve the memory of veteran Nikolai Senchenko began at the school in 2015, as reported by the city administration. Then the students implemented a project about the honorary citizen of Kandalaksha, a participant in the fighting in the Kandalaksha direction, who taught at school No. 10 for more than 20 years. In the same year, a memorial plaque was opened on the facade of the institution in his memory. Now materials about Senchenko are included in the updated exposition of the museum.
Earlier, “MK in Murmansk” said that the school in Varzuga celebrated the 45th anniversary and the victory of its museum in the all-Russian competition.
